Pure Abstract, Swindon Arts Fringe

The Swindon Arts Fringe, or Swindon Arts Festival, is a locally organised and hosted set of exhibitions to bring artwork to new areas of the town. This includes parts of the historic Carriageworks, as well as community hubs such as Artsite and Swindon Hub.

At each location, a different exhibition was being held in collaboration with artists who submitted exhibition ideas through to curating the spaces. The Pure Abstract exhibition was being held in the Carriageworks, along Station Road. Artists were invited to submit an abstract piece of work with no size limitations. Artwork displayed included smaller, intimate pieces all the way through to large scale abstract work.

I submitted Configuration Eight into this exhibition. This piece is part of the Configuration series of eight paintings that I created during Project 365 where I aimed to create a piece of art every day for a year. Configuration Eight is one of the fuller and bolder pieces that I created, and suited the other artworks that were also displayed in the space.
